Booking a class with a stranger for your child, sight unseen, is a reasonable thing to feel cautious about. Here's what actually happens, step by step, so there's no guesswork before you commit to anything.

Before the first class

After you book a free trial, we email you within 24 hours to confirm a specific day and time, based on the availability window and time zone you gave us. You'll receive a class link ahead of time — no app download or account setup required to join.

The first few minutes

A trial class starts with the teacher briefly introducing themselves and asking a few simple questions to gauge where your child is at: can they recognize Arabic letters, have they done any Qaida before, can they read any surahs already. This isn't a test with a pass/fail outcome — it's how the teacher figures out where to actually start.

The main part of the class

For a reading-stage student, this usually looks like the teacher pointing to letters or words on a shared screen, the student reading aloud, and the teacher correcting pronunciation in real time — the same back-and-forth as an in-person lesson, just over video. For a more advanced student, it might be Tajweed correction on a specific surah, or reviewing memorization. The pace is set by the student, not a fixed script.

What's expected of a parent

For younger children, having a parent nearby (not necessarily on camera) helps, especially for the first few classes while the child gets comfortable. For older children and adult students, classes typically run independently. Either way, you're welcome to observe any class at any time — nothing about the format is designed to happen away from a parent's awareness.

After the class

The teacher records a short note on what was covered and how the student did, visible to you afterward — this becomes the basis for tracking real progress over time rather than each class starting from scratch. If it's a trial class, we follow up to talk through a recommended starting plan; there's no pressure and no card required to have that conversation.
