Online Quran Classes Cost Comparison: What Should You Actually Pay?
By Saba Afzal · 5 Sep 2026
One of the most common frustrations parents mention is that pricing for online Quran classes is hard to compare — many academies hide it behind a "contact us for a quote" form. Here's how to think about cost on a fair, like-for-like basis.
Per-class price matters more than the headline monthly number
A "$60/month" plan and a "$100/month" plan aren't comparable without knowing how many classes each includes. Always divide the monthly price by the number of classes to get a true per-class cost — that's the number that actually lets you compare two offers.
1-on-1 vs group pricing
Group classes are usually cheaper per seat, but the effective learning time per child is much lower — a 30-minute group class with 4 students gives each child roughly 7 minutes of direct attention. 1-on-1 classes cost more per session but the entire session is direct instruction, which is usually the better value for the same money once you account for actual attention time.
Class length and what it should include
Shorter classes (20–30 minutes) suit younger children and pure reading/Tajweed practice; longer classes (45–60 minutes) make sense once a student is also covering translation, Hifz revision, or Islamic studies alongside reading. A longer class isn't automatically better value — it's only worth it if the extra time is actually being used for structured content, not just repetition that could fit in less time.
Red flags to watch for
- No public pricing at all — if a price is only given after a sales call, that usually means prices vary by how much a family seems willing to pay.
- No clarity on what happens if a class is missed or a teacher changes.
- Pressure to commit to a long-term contract before a single trial class.
What fair pricing looks like
A transparent academy publishes exact prices, tells you exactly how many classes that includes, and lets you try before committing — no quote calls, no negotiation required. If a price ever changes, an existing student's rate should be protected rather than silently raised.
You can see our own transparent, per-class pricing breakdown on the pricing page — no contact form required.
