Saba Quran ("we", "us", "our") provides live 1-on-1 online Quran classes. This policy explains what personal data we collect from you and your family, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. By using this website or booking a class, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who this applies to

Our classes are for children and adults, but our services are booked and paid for by a parent or guardian, or by an adult student themselves. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children — information about a child (such as their age group or progress notes) is provided to us by their parent or guardian, or recorded by their teacher as part of delivering the class.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, such as:

  • Parent/guardian or student name, email address, and phone number
  • Country and time zone, so we can match you with a suitable teacher
  • Student age group and course/topic preferences
  • Your preferred days and time-of-day availability
  • Messages, notes, or preferences you share with us (e.g. in the trial or custom-package forms)
  • Referral codes and, if you are a student, your own referral activity
  • Payment details when billing is processed (see Section 7 — currently handled manually; card payments via a processor such as Stripe or PayPal are being introduced)

We also collect some information automatically when you visit our site:

  • Standard technical data (IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited) via Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
  • Cookies used for analytics and to remember preferences such as your selected currency

3. How we use your information

  • To match your family with a vetted teacher and schedule classes
  • To communicate with you about trial bookings, class schedules, reminders, and billing
  • To process payments and maintain accurate billing records
  • To operate our referral and discount programs
  • To monitor and improve the safety and quality of our teaching (including our automated safeguarding checks on teacher-written notes)
  • To understand how our website is used and improve it
  • To comply with legal obligations

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited information with:

  • Your assigned teacher — only what's needed to deliver classes (student name, age group, progress notes, scheduling details). Teachers are contractually and technically restricted from requesting or sharing direct contact details with students, to protect your family.
  • Service providers we rely on to run the platform, including Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, Calendar/Meet for class links), Trustpilot (for review collection), and, once live, a payment processor such as Stripe or PayPal.
  • Legal or safety reasons, where required by law or necessary to protect the safety of a child or member of our community.

5. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality (e.g. remembering your currency choice), analytics (Google Analytics/Tag Manager), and third-party widgets (Trustpilot). You can control or disable cookies in your browser settings; doing so may affect some site features.

6. Data retention

We keep personal data for as long as necessary to provide our services, maintain accurate financial and safeguarding records, and meet legal obligations. If you ask us to delete your data and you have no active enrollment or outstanding obligations, we will do so within a reasonable time, except where we are required to retain it by law.

7. Payments

Class fees are currently invoiced and paid manually by bank transfer. We are in the process of integrating a card payment processor (such as Stripe or PayPal) to make this automatic. Once live, card details will be entered directly with that processor and are never stored on our servers.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to object to certain uses of it. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@sabaquran.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

9. International data

We serve families worldwide, and your information may be processed in a different country than the one you live in, including Pakistan where our team is based. We take reasonable steps to keep your data secure wherever it is processed.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including access controls and encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

12. Contact us

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to hello@sabaquran.com.

This policy is intended as a clear, good-faith description of our data practices and is not a substitute for independent legal advice. If your family is based somewhere with specific data-protection requirements (such as the UK, EU, or Canada), you're welcome to contact us with any questions.
